The Art of Speaking

A core program of  The Patnaude Group Inc. for over 20 years, The Art of Speaking teaches participants to communicate more effectively. The process instills confidence and helps participants develop specific skills that they carry forward into any business situation or environment. Classes are small so that each student receives personalized attention in developing a unique style that builds upon one’s individual strengths. In this 2-day program, participants learn to engage their audience, motivate others, use visuals effectively, promote a personal style, and build confidence while they develop and practice delivering multiple presentations. Filmed playback, coaching and audience feedback are utilized as important learning tools.

The Art of Speaking Advanced Course

Once the basic Art of Speaking course has been digested and put into practice, there is the next step for those who want to move to the next level of “owning the room.” In a 2-day seminar, participants learn how to enhance their interpersonal skills to complement the speaking skills they have already attained. Working within three levels of influence – information, interaction and inspiration, participants learn how to utilize organizational and personal power for delivering an impactful presentation that will last in the memory of their audience.

Quality Listening

Listening is a gift. It has also has been determined to be the most important skill of Transformational Leadership. Fortunately, good listening can be learned. Focusing on three areas – staying focused, capturing the message, and helping the speaker to be more effective – students are taught the art of Quality Listening. Participants learn attentiveness, silence and intrinsic listening, while discovering that quality listening reveals hidden messages that can be extremely valuable to the listener.

Individual Coaching

These one-on-one coaching sessions, which can range from 2 to 4 hours, provide accelerated, personalized training to hone personal skills. Individual coaching is ideal for overall skill development, including preparation for that most important, upcoming presentation.

Coaching For Your Executive Assistant

Investing, periodically in the one who invests in you daily, only makes sense. This on-line and phone coaching program is designed to not only reward, but recognize and guide your Assistant to an expanded awareness of the gifts and competencies they already bring to the work place. Through the use of assessment and feedback instruments, this contributor also discovers areas of developmental need that will produce even more effectiveness in their support role.

Business Etiquette

The message and the messenger are equally important. Successful communication and leadership goes beyond content. How we look, act and appear when communicating is vital. This seminar includes greeting strategies, communication styles, voice and e-mail techniques, clothing and grooming issues, handling criticism and conflict,and dealing with diversity. The luncheon portion includes one hour of dining etiquette and the day concludes with individual consultation with each of the participants.
