Transformational Leadership

This three-day seminar is a dynamic process to broaden and deepen your skills into the realm of Transformational Leadership – a level of leadership that is beyond the ordinary. The investigation into the science of Emotional Intelligence serves as a foundation for this training. Session one focuses on the Psychology of Self and utilizes the Myers Briggs Type Indicator® as a baseline of understanding. Session two is the Practice of Self-Mastery which includes the key instrument for measuring the five dynamics of the Transformational Leader:

  • Ideal Influence – the presence you exude that others want to emulate
  • Inspirational Motivation – providing inspiration for meaning and challenge to their follower’s work
  • Intellectual Stimulation – stimulating others to be innovative and creative by questioning assumptions
  • Individual Consideration – your ability to pay attention to each individual’s need for achievement and growth by acting as a coach (www.Mindgarden.com )

Executive Coaching for the Individual

Once a certain level of success is achieved, many executives seek to broaden their scope of excellence by becoming not only better at what they do, but also deeper in who they are. Based on Jeffrey Patnaude’s book, Leading From The Maze, A Personal Pathway to Leadership, and Daniel Goleman’s book, Primal Leadership, the coach guides the participant along the journey to inner excellence. Questions such as, ‘How can my impact be more powerful’ and ‘What legacy will I leave’ are addressed.

The Coaching Quad

The Coaching Quad is a practical, affordable and dynamic way for individuals to broaden and deepen their leadership skills within the context of a small group. Through role-playing and extensive interaction, the Quad works with a coach, receiving feedback from the coach, as well as from the other participants. Utilizing the same learning material as in the Transformational Leadership program, this learning process continues after the session, as participants are encouraged to meet weekly to become “peer mentors.” Small networks develop as Quad participants become Quad leaders who coach other groups.

The Strategic Visioning Process

The best way to predict the future is to invent it. – Alan Kay, Scientist, Inventor

A Strategic Vision is a description of an organization’s preferred future state. It is a blueprint for the organization’s future, and a recognition of the values, purpose and mission that will guide the organization toward the intended results. Our process has six steps that build upon each other.

  • Step One – Scanning the Current Situation
  • Step Two – Clarifying the Values
  • Step Three – Defining the Purpose – Purpose Statement (The Why)
  • Step Four – Determining the Mission – Mission Statement (The How)
  • Step Five – Creating the Vision – Vision Statement
  • Step Six – Implementation with On-going Coaching

Typically, this work is done in an off-site location for 2 days where participants can focus, without distractions, for achieving this foundational work.
